I’m your host of the Hello C.S. Dorsey Podcast. In one of my recent episodes, I delved into a topic that many of us grapple with at some point in our lives – whether to stay in a 9 to 5 job or explore other avenues. Today, I’d like to share some insights from the latest episode in more detail.

Understanding Your Financial Needs

The first point I touched on in the podcast was the importance of understanding your financial needs.

It’s easy to get caught up in the idea of making a large amount of money. But it’s crucial to focus on what is necessary for your specific situation.

Start by calculating how much money you truly need each month to cover bills, food, and other expenses.

This will give you a clear picture of your financial requirements. Also helps you make an informed decision about your career path.

Ignoring the “Head Trash”

The second point we discussed was the concept of “head trash.” A term I use to represent the mental clutter caused by worrying about what others think.

It’s human nature to seek approval. But when it comes to your career, the only opinions that should matter are your own.

I encourage you to disregard the judgments of others and focus on your own goals and aspirations. The path to financial independence doesn’t always have to be a traditional 9 to 5 job.

Leveraging Your Support System

The third point I emphasized was the importance of tapping into your support system. This could be your spouse, parents, or close friends.

Have open conversations with them about your decision to stay in your job or pursue other options.

Remember, the only opinions that truly matter are those of the people who will be directly affected by your decision.

Embracing Opportunities in the Digital Age

Lastly, I discussed exploring the opportunities available in today’s digital age. There are various ways to make money and become an entrepreneur.

You could start an online business, open a food truck, or leverage social media platforms. Like TikTok and Instagram to monetize your interests.

I encourage you to explore these options and try new things. You don’t necessarily need a 9 to 5 job to be successful.

Conclusion

Make the decision if you want to stay in a 9 to 5 job. Pursuing other options is a personal one and can be challenging.

However, by understanding your financial needs, ignoring the “head trash,” leveraging your support system. And embracing the opportunities in the digital age, you can navigate this crossroads with confidence.

Remember, the goal is not just to make money, but to find fulfillment and happiness in what you do.
